Wow, what a show!!!!! As many of you already know Nationals started out with a BANG for us and only got better. David & Desert Rose was named the first Reserve National Champion of the 37th AHA's National Show in Purebred Mares AOTH. A few nights later Desert Rose was selected as a Top Ten Futurity Filly out of a class of 27 very nice Fillies. Later in the week Desert Rose was once again superbly shown by Robin Hopkinson of Michael Byatt Arabians where she was presented with her Top Ten award. We should have photos soon.
Nationals was a great show, the quality in most of the classes was outstanding. Congratulations to all of our friends and clients on a successful show. The Junior Stallion class was one of the most exciting stallion classes we have seen in a while. The class had some very nice stallions but three stood out as super stars and we are very proud to have all three stallions National Champion Marwan Al Shaqab, Reserve National Champion Enzo, and Top Ten Om El Shahmaan blood in our breeding program.
Desert Rose is now home and enjoying a leisurely life, we are planning on breeding her and her dam BB Flamingo Rose to World Champion Marwan Al Shaqab this spring.
Marada is now in training with Lee Mancini for Western Pleasure. Lee is very excited for this young stallion's future and we are as well. He is looking so beautiful, what an awesome western pleasure horse he is going to be. He will for sure knock 'em dead in the Western Pleasure Futurity. We are offering Marada for sale, he can be seen on our sales list or you can contact Lee directly.
As the holiday season approaches we often think about the things that we are so grateful for. We have made so many wonderful friends and experiences because of our Arabian horses and we look forward to many more years of sharing our horses and our lives with you.
Have a great holiday season full of "Peace and Goodwill",
Your friends,
David & Scott

Marada was Junior Champion for the second year in a row at the WMAHA's Fall Classic Horse Show. This was Marada's second time in the show ring and his second blue ribbon. Anastazziaa was a big winner also this past month at the AHAM Breeders Futurity winning the Senior Weanling Filly class and then the Weanling Championship. We are so proud of these two outstanding young horses!
Just before Anastazziaa's class she was sold to Mr. Joel Desmarteau of Columbus Ohio. Best of luck to you both, we look forward to seeing you in the show ring next year. A big "thank you" to Jim Smith of Blackwell Stables for showing and schooling Annie, Autumn Smith of Smith Stables for doing such an incredible job conditioning and grooming both Annie and Marada and John Lambert of Lambert Arabians for showing Marada at the Fall Classic and the stallion presentation at the Futurity show.
Aji and Hadayyah are both at Michael Byatt Arabians preparing for the 2004 breeding season. Both mares will be bred to a straight Egyptian stallion and return back to Stonewall Farm in 2004 carrying the future generation of straight Egyptian bloodstock.
Hope to see you at Nationals,
David & Scott

With US Nationals right around the corner we are gearing up for Desert Rose's first appearance in the National arena. We are very excited and so proud of her, she will be competing in Halter Futurity Fillies with Robin Hopkinson of Michael Byatt Arabians and in AOTH Mares with David. Robin and Michael's staff have been doing a wonderful job preparing Lil'B and David for their big debut.
We have been busy traveling and visiting with friends in the last few months. Since most of our trips are centered on Arabian horses we decided while in southern California visiting our friends Bob and Dixie North to spend a few days acting like a tourist. It has been about 10 years since we visited the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park so we made a day of it and had a great time exploring the zoo and wild Animal Park. We also had a great time at Sea World, aquatic life is so fascinating!
While in southern California we were able to tour Bob and Dixie's new farm and home. Talk about a jaw dropping facility, what a beautiful place. Bob and Dixie have created a paradise both for Arabian horses and their human friends.
We also got to see our friend Richard DeWalt and view his 2003 foal crop. Richard has bred some very fine Arabian horses and this years foals were spectacular!
We then headed north to Santa Ynez, for the next week it was nothing but fun, sun, food, great people and gorgeous horses. We stayed at Henry and Christy Metz's new farm and absolutely fell in love. Henry and Christie are two of the most wonderful people we have ever meet and truly enjoy spending time with them.
Our friends John Hillard and Christine Bruce Hillard of HB Arabians have purchased 101 acres outside of Santa Ynez, we were able to tour their property and look forward to seeing their new ranch built. If you have never been to the Santa Ynez area we highly recommend visiting, it is absolutely one of the most beautiful areas of the world.
It was then off to Houston Texas, to Michael Byatt's Open House. It was a perfect weekend, the weather was so beautiful, and the horses even more beautiful. The more we visit with Marwan Al Shaqab the more we love him. He is truly one of the most beautiful true to type Arabian stallions we have seen in a long time. We are very excited about his foal out of Checkers coming in March 2004.
Now we get to rest for a few days before our AHAM Breeders Futurity show coming up in September.
Take care and have a great day,
David & Scott

The last few months have really been very exciting for us. David and Desert Rose made their show-ring debut in Mare Halter AOTH in Beaumont Texas, wining the mare class and the AOTH Championship. Desert Rose was also Open Champion Mare. After Texas we headed for the Egyptian Event in Lexington, Kentucky and had a great time there. The weather was just right and the horses were out of this world gorgeous! We purchased a breeding to the straight Egyptian stallion Al Salil through the Pyramid Society Stallion Service Auction and look forward to participating in the Pyramid Society's Egyptian Breeders Challenge.
After Lexington it was back to Texas for the Region 9 show. David and Desert Rose was named Region 9 Reserve Champion Mare AOTH. The Region 9 was really a great show, located in Fort Worth, we had a good ole' Texas time!
BB and Checkers are back home and in foal. BB is carrying a foal by Padrons Psyche who needs no introduction and Checkers is in foal to the World Champion Junior Stallion *Marwan Al Shaqab . Aji our new straight Egyptian mare (pictured right) is at Twin Creek Farms where she will be bred to the straight Egyptian stallion Ansata Iemhotep owned by Don & Judy Forbis' Ansata Arabian Stud.
Congratulations to Randy & Marsha Meyer on their purchase of our yearling filly Ashontii and Rob and Ricki Luton on their purchase of Brandale Beckonkaul. We wish you all much success with your new horses. We have added current video footage of Fabritsio and American Idol to their sale pages. Fabritsio will certainly be a top competitor in gelding halter and will be able to start his performance training this fall, he should be a knockout Western Pleasure horse. American Idol is not only going to make an excellent performance horse but with a pedigree like his (El Shaklan and *Eukaliptus) he should be an excellent outcross for most breeding programs.
That's all for now, we hope to see you at a show or drop us a e-mail and stop by the farm to see Kattrina's weanling colt Julliani by *Jullyen El Jamaal.
Happy summer,
David & Scott
April 28, 2003
April has been a really great month for us, however we are soooooooooooooooo over the very long winter we have been having here in Michigan. We are really starting to think God's telling us to pack it up and head to Scottsdale!
Maximus has been sold, he now calls Cheney Washington his new home and Jole Birdsell and her family is his new family. Congratulations to both Max and his new family. We are so happy for all of you. The photo to the right is Max arriving at his new home.
Kattrina gave birth to an absolutely gorgeous bay colt by *Jullyen El Jamaal on March 21st. He will be named Julliani SWF; we have new photos online. BB has been checked in foal to Padrons Psyche for a 2004 foal, we are so excited, this will be her 16th foal. She is so happy in foal! Checkers is not in foal yet; we are praying she will be giving us a filly next spring by Marwan Al Shaqab who is the 2002 World Champion Junior Colt.
We are very pleased to be adding the beautiful straight Egyptian mare Aji Malika by El Hadiyyah and out of the mare Morafica to our broodmare band.
Desert Rose is doing very well at Michael Byatt's farm in Houston Texas. She is in halter training; we hope to be showing her at a Regional show this summer in Three-Year-Old Futurity Fillies. Ashontii is also in training and preparing for the show ring in Yearling Sweepstakes Fillies with Bob Boggs.
Hope your having a great spring,
David & Scott

We just returned from the Valley of the Sun; Scottsdale Arizona. The weather was beautiful and the horses even more beautiful
then before, we are so pleased to see the return of true Arabian type. Seeing our friends that we only see at horse shows is almost
as enjoyable as sitting in the sun watching the halter and performance classes. If you have never been to the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show we highly suggest attending. We enjoyed Scottsdale so much and the warm beautiful weather that we are thinking very strongly of relocating our farm and business to Scottsdale. We have spent most of our lives here in Michigan and enjoy the spring, summer and fall, however this past winter has motivated us to think about spending our life in a warm sunny location.
We were very proud to see 9 Time National Champion SWF Central Park in Half-Arabian Country English Pleasure with Bob Bataglia for her owners Linda and Tara Jackson of Houston, Texas. Parker was one our very first foals. Good luck Parker and Bob in this years competition.
BB and Checkers are away at Twin Creek Farms getting ready for breeding. Maximus is doing very well under saddle with John Lambert and Desert Rose (Lil' B) will be leaving very shortly for Michael Byatt's to be shown in 3 Year-Old Futurity Fillies. Ashonti will be leaving soon for Bob Boggs' Midwest Station II to be shown at a Regional in Yearling Sweepstakes Fillies and for marketing. She is available for purchase and can be seen on our sales list.
That's it for now, pray for warmer weather!
David & Scott
