Summer here in Scottsdale has been awesome!!!! It has been a dry hot summer, much different then the summers we are accustomed to in Michigan but we love Scottsdale. The horses that were shipped to Scottsdale back in April have adjusted very well to the high temperatures and are doing very well. BB, Desert Rose and Haddayyah will be shipped to Scottsdale in September once the temperatures start to cool.

We are disappointed with the News that BB slipped the Marwan foal that she was carrying. We did not re-bred her back because of the lateness in the year, we plan on getting an early start in February 2005. We hope to be able to do a couple ET procedures on BB next year.

Bey Marada is doing very well under saddle with Lee Mancini of Mancini Training Center. He is a very talented and beautiful young horse. He is the epitome of a classic Western horse, beautiful lope and such a smooth jog. He will be competing in the Western Pleasure Futurity class at the U.S. Nationals with Lee.

Our yearling colt SWF Julliani (*Jullyen El Jamaal x GLF Kattrina) is also doing very well. He is currently in conditioning with Smith Stables and is growing into a beautiful young colt. Julliani (we call him Rudy) should follow in his brother's footsteps SWF Fabritsio who is in western training, Fabritsio is owned by Davids's nephew James. We hope to see the two competing next year in Western Pleasure JOTR.

This years foals SWF Viggo (Padrons Psyche x BB Flamingo Rose), SWF Marrakech (*Marwan Al Shaqab x Checkers by *Eukaliptus), and Verakia (Versace x Sanegors Lady D) have all been weaned and are looking so good. We hope to have some new photos on-line soon.

In just a few short months we have had many visitors here in Scottsdale and look forward to seeing you!

Best regards,
David & Scott

WOW. We have so much exciting news to share with you we are not sure where to begin! We guess the news of us moving to Scottsdale tops the list this month. The snow and the below freezing temperatures have taken their toll on us once and for all so Scottsdale here we come! As of May 1, 2004 we will be living in Scottsdale, our young horse have already arrived and are loving the

beautiful spring here in the valley, the desert is in full bloom, and is very beautiful. Our new contact information is posted below. We invite all of you to visit us on your next trip to the Scottsdale area.

Checkers delivered the most amazing filly by National Champion Marwan Al Shaqab, her name is SWF Marrakech. Finally a filly! Checkers last two foals have been colts and since Checkers will be celebrating her 21st birthday this year what a blessing it is to now have a beautiful filly out of her to someday take over for mom in the breeding barn.

This past March we told you about two beautiful mares we have added to our collection, we are so very pleased with both of them, Valencia is such a sweetheart of a filly that when the opportunity was presented to us to purchase her half sister we couldn't wait to make her ours. "Thank you" to Keith and Maureen Krichke for bringing Valencia and Fantasia (Psymadre x Cognac's Fantasy out of BB Flamingo Rose) into our life and breeding program. And "Thank you" to Richard DeWalt of Illusion Arabians for allowing us to purchase Miss Psyche, she is an incredible addition to our program. Miss Psyche has been checked in foal to National Champion Ames Charisma for a 2005 foal.

The business of breeding and marketing Arabian horses has brought many wonderful people into our lives; many will forever be a part of our lives and our extended family.

We also want to "Thank" so many of you who have supported us, our breeding program and our business. Just by clicking on our News page and reading our Web site means so much, and we look forward to seeing you and enjoying a margarita in the beautiful Arizona sunset.

Your friends,
David & Scott

The last month has been a really exciting time for us. We had a wonderful time in Scottsdale, the show as always is our favorite Arabian horse show. The weather was not as warm as we usually like but the horses were awesome especially the yearlings and seeing our fellow Arabian horse enthusiast was almost as enjoyable as seeing all the wonderful horses.

As most of you know we have been talking about moving to Scottsdale for a while now, well that seems to be the way we are heading. We have found a very beautiful 5 acre lot in North Scottsdale and hope to be building a new farm within the next year.

The day we returned from Scottsdale (February 24th) BB delivered a gorgeous chestnut colt by Padrons Psyche for us. Her due date was not until March 4th, we guess she was so excited about seeing us return that she just couldn't wait! His name is SWF Viggo (Scott is a big Lord of the Rings fan). BB and Desert Rose are being bred to National Champion Marwan Al Shaqab, Kattrina and Checkers will be bred to National Champion Ames Charisma. Hadayyah will be bred to Ansata Iemhotep and Aji Malika will be bred to ZT Faa'iq. It's gonna be a busy year!

We are also very pleased to announce the acquisition of two promising young mares to add to our collection of exquisite broodmares. Our first new lady is Miss Psyche, a gorgeous daughter of Padrons Psyche and out of the beautiful Menes daughter Mallorca who was exported to Germany back in 1998. Miss Psyche will be bred to National Champion Ames Charisma. Our second young lady was unnamed at the time of her purchase; we have named her SWF Valencia. We chose this name because she reminds us so much of our beautiful colt SWF Valenzo who we lost in a terrible accident in 2002. She is so beautiful, short extremely typy head, huge black eyes, this filly has it all, and what a pedigree. She is sired by the National Champion stallion Psytanium and out of BB Flamingo Rose's daughter Cognac's Fantasy, making her of course a granddaughter to our foundation mare BB Flamingo Rose. We will try and have new photos of our two girls soon.

Thank you for stopping by!

David & Scott

Old man winter has shown up here in Michigan and shows no signs of leaving anytime soon, but living in Michigan most of our lives we knew he was going to show up sooner or later! Thank God for our friends out west and the warmer climate that is just a few hours away by plane. We were able to take another trip to Santa Ynez for the Thanksgiving holiday. Thanks to our friends Henry and Christie Metz for always showing us a spectacular time in the valley! Then it was off to Scottsdale were we attended a wonderful New Year's party hosted by our friends Bob Battaglia and Russ Vento of Battaglia Farms. Bob and Russ relocated their farm this past November to the beautiful Stewart's Bar A Ranch in Scottsdale. We had a great time! We have as we do every winter been thinking of relocating to Scottsdale as well, but we are having a hard time giving up beautiful green pasture for never ending sunshine. We plan on spending a lot more time this year in Scottsdale to see if it's the place for us.

Things on the farm have been pretty uneventful as they normally are in the winter time, BB and Checkers bellies are growing bigger every day with the promise of new life. We can hardly wait for this years foal crop to arrive! Lil' B (Desert Rose) and Hadayyah are back home from Michael Byatt's and are under lights getting ready for breeding this spring. Lil' B and her mother will both be bred to US National Champion and World Champion Junior Stallion Marwan Al blah blah. Hadayyah will be bred to the incredibly beautiful straight Egyptian stallion PVA Kariim and Aji who is still at Michael's will be bred to Ansata Iemhotep who needs no introduction at all. We fell in love with Hotep at Michael's farm last year and then after seeing him presented to Egyptian Event Supreme Champion at the 2003 Egyptian Event we just knew he was the one for Aji.

American Idol we call him Bobbi (pictured right) will be joining his new owners this week in Washington State. The Birdsell's purchased Bobbi's full brother Maximus last year and have been very pleased, they are very excited to add Bobbi to their family. Congratulations to you all!

Marada and Fabritsio are both doing so well under saddle, we could not be happier. Lee Mancini is preparing Marada for the Western Pleasure Futurity at the 2004 US Nationals. Lee is very excited about this young colt's incredible athletic ability and what a looker he is. Fabritsio is also doing very well under saddle, we gave Fabritsio to James as a Christmas gift this past Christmas. James has placed Fabritsio with Rob Luton for western training and is looking forward to showing him in the Western JTR this year.

Hope your having a great winter,
David & Scott
